peugeot 307 abs fault 4 years, 11 months ago #52

hi can anyone help, plugged into a 52 plate 307 1.6 which had the abs light on... came up with left rear speed sensor faulty. cleared the fault then roadtested .. light came back on once i got some speed up.. same code back so i replaced the speed sensor with a new bosch sensor but the car still has the same fault. on component menu all the speed sensors read the same until about 5mph when the faulty one goes up to about 80 ! i've had a look behind the brake disc with a mirror & it looks like the sensor is triggered by the wheel bearing but it looks fairly clean. any ideas please ??? shaun

check the air gap between the sensor and the bearing common on these the axel rusts and the airgap gets to big a washer behind the sensor normally does the trick but be carefull that the sensor does not touch the bearing
